Lisa Lee Smith is a partner with Davis, Frawley, Anderson, McCauley, Ayer, Fisher & Smith, LLC. Lisa joined the firm in 1997 after having served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable William P. Keesley from 1996-1997. Lisa is a 1987 Graduate of Irmo High School, a 1991 graduate of Clemson University and a 1995 graduate of the University of South Carolina, School of Law. Lisa is also a Certified Circuit Court Mediator and Arbitrator.
Lisa’s practice areas include representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in State and Federal Trial Courts in South Carolina, including Courts of the Master in Equity and Probate. Lisa regularly represents individuals, insurance companies, business owners, fiduciaries and governmental entities. Lisa’s practice includes all areas of Real Estate Law – including property litigation, residential transactions and commercial transactions. Lisa also serves as a mediator, arbitrator and special referee. While with the firm, Lisa litigated the reported cases of Mosteller vs. County of Lexington, 520 S.E.2d 620; 366 S.C. 360 (1999) and W.R.B. Limited Partnership vs. County of Lexington, 520 S.E.2d 620; 369 S.C. 30 (2006).
Lisa is very active in the South Carolina Bar Association as a member of the House of Delegates, Judicial Qualifications Committee, Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection, Professional Potential Task Force and the Professional Responsibility Committee. Lisa is a member of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association and serves as a Judge for student competitions through the Law Related Education Committee. Lisa is a Past President of the Lexington County Bar Association and continues to serve on its Advisory Counsel. Lisa is a member of the American Bar Association and its Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
Lisa is very involved in her community and enjoys serving others through her work as a volunteer and troop leader for Girl Scouts in the Irmo - Chapin area; through her involvement with Rotary Clubs as a former member of the Rotary Club of Lexington and currently as a member of the Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise; through her work as a volunteer representative for a disaster relief non-profit organization called ShelterBox USA (www.shelterboxusa.com); and through her service on the Advisory Counsel for South Carolina’s First Sound Newborn Hearing Screening Program though the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
