 Matthew Sullivan, Associate
Matthew Sullivan joined the Nicholson Law Firm in 2002 as a law clerk, and was promoted to associate attorney in 2004 after graduating cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While at USC, Sullivan was inducted into the Order of the Wig and Robe and Order of the Coif legal honor societies. He also received three CALI awards while in law school.
Since joining the firm as an attorney, Sullivan has practiced in the areas of Family and Domestic Law, Real Estate and Property litigation, Real Estate transactions, General Defense litigation, and Appellate work. He is a member of the American Bar Association and of the South Carolina and Lexington County bars. He is also licensed to appear before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
A native of Worcester , Massachusetts , Sullivan is a 1996 graduate of Winthrop University, where he earned a degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Political Science. While at Winthrop , he served as a radio broadcaster for Winthrop University men's basketball on the Winthrop Eagles radio network. Sullivan is a 1997 graduate of the former Brinkman-Froemming Umpire School and the UDP (now PBUC) umpire camp. He was a minor league baseball umpire in 1997 and 1998, and currently umpires on the amateur level. He is a former reporter for the South Carolina High School Sports Report, and the former Sports Information Director for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Sullivan is married to the former Shelby Rourk of Charleston , SC. They have two children, Logan, 8, and Caroline, 2.
