&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Columbia Police Department and members of the Five Points Association are concerned over what they say is a growing number of &amp;ldquo;car versus pedestrian&amp;rdquo; incidents in the commercial district.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Members of the association, along with representatives from the city and the state department of transportation, met last week to discuss how to address the safety issues...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The families met for lunch with lawmakers and community members and received, on behalf of their soldier, Marine and airman, were presented with the Order of the Palmetto Patriot, as well as a Concurrent Resolution honoring them, a South Carolina flag which was flown over the State House and a US Flag flown over the US Capitol...&lt;/p&gt;

A family court judge in Charleston ordered on New Year&amp;rsquo;s Eve that James Island residents Matt and Melanie Capobianco turn over their adoptive daughter to her biological father, Oklahoma resident Dusten Brown. Brown, who is part Cherokee, filed for paternity and custody four months after Veronica&amp;rsquo;s birth and successfully argued his case under the Indian Child Welfare Act, a federal law designed to preserve Native American families.....&lt;/p&gt;
